Many users reported difficulties accessing WhatsApp Web on Friday morning, with complaints mainly focused on login failures and chat synchronization problems.
Data from outage-tracking platform Downdetector indicated 25 reports related to the disruption, suggesting the issue appears to be localized rather than a widespread global outage. Among the reported cases, 56% involved problems with the website interface, 39% were linked to the mobile app, and 6% related to messaging disruptions.
Preliminary observations suggest the glitch is primarily affecting users attempting to connect WhatsApp Web through iPhones. Several iOS users reported difficulties pairing their devices with the web client, while Android users largely indicated normal functionality without major interruptions.
A number of affected users highlighted the issue on X, noting repeated QR code pairing failures and syncing delays from iOS devices.
As of now, WhatsApp has not issued an official statement regarding the disruption. Users are advised to try troubleshooting steps such as updating the app, clearing browser cache, or reattempting device pairing until further clarification is provided.
