World Economic Forum LIVE: Trump Signs Documents Formally Establishing ‘Board of Peace’ for Gaza

Former United States President Donald Trump has formally signed documents to establish a new international body titled the “Board of Peace” for Gaza, during a live session at the World Economic Forum (WEF).

The signing ceremony, broadcast live to a global audience, marks a symbolic step in what organisers described as an effort to introduce a structured peace and reconstruction framework for Gaza Strip, following prolonged conflict and humanitarian crises in the region.

According to preliminary details shared at the forum, the proposed Board of Peace is expected to consist of international diplomats, regional stakeholders, development experts, and representatives from humanitarian organisations. Its stated objectives include facilitating dialogue, coordinating post-conflict reconstruction, and proposing long-term governance and security mechanisms for Gaza.

Speaking at the event, Mr Trump said the initiative aims to bring “stability, opportunity, and a lasting framework for peace” to the region, while emphasising the need for international cooperation and economic engagement. However, he did not disclose specific timelines, funding commitments, or the names of participating member states.

Reactions to the announcement have been mixed. Some international observers welcomed the move as a renewed attempt to address one of the world’s most intractable conflicts, while others cautioned that any sustainable peace process would require broad regional consent, including the involvement of Palestinian leadership and neighbouring states.

Officials at the World Economic Forum clarified that the initiative remains at an early conceptual stage and that further consultations would be required before any operational deployment.

The situation in Gaza continues to draw global attention, with international agencies warning of ongoing humanitarian challenges and the urgent need for political solutions that ensure security, dignity, and economic recovery for civilians.
